The “Musical Estates of Russia” portal
documentary films and video projects
The Moscow Conservatory is one of Russia’s oldest musical educational institutions; in a sense, it is a musical home that preserves, enriches, and passes down from generation to generation the traditions of interpreting the musical heritage. An essential element on the path to creating an interpretation is immersion in the historical and cultural context. The immersion in the history and world of estates is also important—the Russian musical homes where the life and creative journey of great Russian composers began, or where the most intensive period of their creative biography unfolded and the highest stage of their artistic maturity was reached; musical homes where great music was created, the interpretation traditions of which are taught at the Moscow Conservatory.

The “Musical Estates of Russia” portal provides the general public with access to the foundation’s materials—documentaries about the history and fate of estates and the establishment of house-museums of great composers, as well as video tours, podcasts, reportage films, interviews, and video sketches that open the world of musical homes. A number of documentaries and video programs have been translated into foreign languages; the translated video projects are available in this language version on the “Video Catalog” page.
